1. Learn correct French pronunciation from the start
Although there are many similar roots, French remains distinct from other languages in many ways - even a shared word like 'weekend' is written with a hyphen in French 'week-end' and the pronunciation is given a "French touch". How then to master French pronunciation? Read full articleAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03759254943306844615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8598912535731986415.post-48515024162789325352014-06-19T01:47:00.000-07:002014-06-19T11:06:42.204-07:00French Faster - Learn French OnlineIt's been quite a while since I last blogged!
The principle is simple: It is easier to remember 10 new words in a language you know, rather than trying to remember 3 new words in an unfamiliar language. SOUND ASSOCIATION is a very powerful memory technique. Here is a FUN way to remember the verbs TO BE (être) and TO HAVE (avoir).

VERB TO BE (être)

I am --> I am SWEEt --> Je suis
You are --> You are ESsential --> Tu es
He/She is --> He is ESTablished --> Il est
We are --> We are SOMEbody --> Nous sommes
You (pl) are --> You are ETErnal --> Vous êtes
They are --> They are SO Naughty --> Ils sont

VERB TO HAVE (avoir)

I have --> I have AIds --> J’ai
You have --> You have ASthma --> Tu as
He/She has --> He/She has Anemia --> Il a
We have --> We have AVON cosmetics --> Nous avons
You (pl) have --> You have A VE rsaci bag --> Vous avez
They have --> They have ONTario friends --> Ils ont

French Faster is an online French language school with a BIG difference.

1. APPROACH
The FRENCHFASTER APPROACH is to focus is more on learning rather than completing textbooks. Our lessons are learner-centered. We build on what learners already know, a new approach to learning called Constructivism.

2. CUSTOMIZATION
Our lessons are customized to the needs and learning styles of the student.
Hence, we have fast-paced programs for students preparing for exams, situation-based programs for flight attendants who need to communicate with passengers, and fun-filled activity-based programs for kids.

3. FLEXIBILITY
We understand that students have their own life, and sometimes need breaks - whether this is for studying other subjects at school, clearing work at the end of the month, or traveling on business trips. We can be very flexible with students taking one-to-one classes.

4. INNOVATIVE LEARNING TECHNIQUES
We have designed our own learning materials, based on 15 years of practice teaching French to a multitude of students with different learning styles, backgrounds and talents. We bring to you innovative ways to learn difficult grammatical concepts, and new ways to remember vocabulary.

5. CUSTOMER-ORIENTED
We are very customer-oriented. No customer ever leaves our centre unsatisfied. We have an innovative solution for everybody, no matter what their learning purpose or budget.

6. FANTASTIC TEAM OF QUALIFIED TEACHERS
All our teachers are carefully selected among the best. They are perfectly bilingual in English and French. And they all have at least 5 years of international teaching experience, with higher degrees in French language. At French Faster, we do not take any chances as we clearly understand our students put their full trust in us as language experts to help them learn French language.

While reinventing the French language, I've made an interesting discovery.
Let me share it while awaiting to be crowned by l'Academie Francaise.

In French, all nouns must be either Masculine or Feminine.
It's just crazy: Table is feminine, while Pen is masculine.
Now, looking at DRINKS, I just discovered a new pattern.
And it's not very polically correct - but it makes learning easier!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All drinks that are Feminine in French language have something to do with FATNESS! Incroyable, mais vrai. Read on...

BEER: la bière (think of the Fat Olga in Germany)
VODKA: la vodka (think of the Fat Babushka in Russia)
WATER: l'eau (think of Fat Mama in drought-affected parts of Africa)
LEMONADE: la limonade (Big and Fat are often synonymns for 'America')
HERBAL TEA: la tisane (what women are into these days, for the figure)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now you have an easier way to remember which drinks are Masculine, and which ones are Feminine in the French language.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
